Some hours later I decided to put the rabbits in one place and was stumbled. There were sixteen of them, but I bet I'd enlivened only eight!

After several hours the green glade near the Sanctuary became empty, there was not a single blade of grass. I sat down and pondered. A sudden pain made me jump: a rabbit sank its teeth into my finger and was hanging on it.
